:iconweekenddanceplz:Project Educate: Fan Fiction - A Feature :iconweekenddanceplz:

Welcome fellow deviants, fan artists and fan lovers alike! Today, Dec 6th, is the Fan Fiction day in our Project Educate week! So I bring you a feature of many fan fics that alexandrasalas and I have read and enjoyed ! We hope you love them just like we did!

A Moment's Notice: UnderfootNo one had to tell him twice. In fact, no one had told him at all.
He had been late getting to Hyrule Castle Town before the gate had been pulled up for the evening. That was one thing he wasn't counting on when his daylight had started to fade not too long ago. He was left outside, without shelter, and at the mercy of whatever decided to come along and torment a Kokiri fresh from the forest.
Apparently that 'whatever' came in the shape of one of the last things he would expect.
The ground beneath his feet had shifted and he found himself against two walking skeletons about the same height as him. His fairy Navi, switching to her urgent yellow hue, had diligently told him that the skeletons were known as Stalchildren. She said not to be afraid and just attack them repeatedly.
Strangely, he felt as if he really could defeat these...things.
The animated skeletons reached out to swing at the young boy with their dirty, scraped arms, nearly bludgeoning him over the head more than once. Lin

(This fan fiction happens to be a DD suggestion so I'll let the suggester be the one to describe how awesome this fic is )

Lies by DragonxPhoenix

Though this fan fiction comes from a fandom that I have never heard about and contains many terms I didn't quite understand, it managed to draw me in and captivate me right from the start! I adored the sensual yet mysterious atmosphere that the artist managed to create and convey to the reader!

A Moment Frozen by Jshei

Is amazing how in 500 words Jshei can achieve such a tense atmosphere through intricate descriptions and emotions that reach right through to you!

Scorched Flesh
Opposition.  Defiance.  Resistance.  Mere words, when given no life or inspiration.  This boy, and his friends…they were ruining the perfectly stitched plans of the Empire.  Vader stood in the darkened room, sensing the approaching presence of his son.  There were others escaping, but they were not his priority.  The reckless spirit searching for him was the one he needed.  The fledgling Jedi entered the room, blaster drawn and senses high.  He'd been practicing, honing his natural instincts.
"The Force is with you, young Skywalker," Vader said.  The boy was nearly as strong as the Sith lord in his prime.  He knew there was still much potential Luke had not achieved, nor could he, not on his chosen path.  "But you are not a Jedi yet."  He had been disappointed in Obi-Wan's retreat, the coward's end.  Vader did not want his son to take his old

Scorched Flesh by Wicked-Pirate-Queen

Shows us another point of view from this well known Star Wars scene! Seeing it all through Vader's eyes made me realize many things that I had never considered after watching the movies. This fic was nicely written making it a pleasure to read!

Snape's EpilogueIt was the purest white he had ever seen. Blinding, almost, yet he was not squinting. In fact, he was not scowling, either. Severus Snape’s trademark expression had abandoned him, leaving behind one of tranquility and content. He felt as if the overwhelming gravity that used to pound on his head, furrow his brows, and slouch his shoulders was gone. He felt light, yet stable on what was now soft, dewy grass.
All around him the brilliant white was fading away to reveal a small clearing in a green and luminous forest. There was no sun. Every leaf, every blade of grass, every flower petal seemed to emit its own yellow light. Severus could feel the damp blades between his bare toes, making him aware of his own nakedness. He looked down on his bare arms to find that while he was still pale, his skin had lost its usual sickly pallor. He touched his face, almost surprised to find it still there. He was still a being, still a form. He half expected to be a cloud of dust.
It was complicated

Today is my 7th birthday. Father didn't say much. Mom gave me a set of new kunai and this journal. Sasuke will be 2 soon. Mom says I can play with him once he can run without falling down.

Father is teaching me how to use the sharingan. He says it will take at least a year for me to learn.

It's Sasuke's birthday today. Mom let me take him for a walk. He tried to run away from me several times. Doesn't he like me?

I became a Chuunin today. I'm glad I found this journal again. It turns out Sasuke hid it under the sink 3 years ago. I should find a safe place to keep it so I don't lose it again.
I haven't written much in here, have I? Not much to say really. Dad is always angry. Mom is just....mom. Sasuke is very noisy. When he was a baby I thought he didn't like me, but apparently I was wrong. He tugs at my sleeve all the time asking me to play with him. I wish I had the time.

RukiKaien: Be thereRukia sat alone on the side of the brook, listening to the water slosh by in attempt to calm her nerves.
She had been up since dawn, troubled by her thoughts and memories. Thoughts of Byakuya's seemingly high expectations of her. Thoughts of Renji and how she had left her oldest and closest friend.
And then there were new thoughts...
...ones of...
"You out here again, Kuchiki?"
Rukia felt as if her stomach and lungs traded places without notifying her mind first. She jolted and exhaled as the identity of Kaien Shiba registered with her.
"H-Hello Lieutenant Kaien." She panted out, taking her usual drink from him.
"I see you're your usual, chipper self." Kaien teased, taking a sip.
They drank in almost silence.
The sound of the brook and rustling tree leaves keeping them company.
"So Rukia, what's the matter today?"
Kaien's voice made her head tilt downward, almost in shame of her sadness.
"Nothing... Captain Kaien."
Another silence fell between them, a new one.
"Captain... Kaien, eh?"

Fire With Fire
Part 1: Life and Death
Many often spoke of the price of life. Philosophers in nearly every civilization had dedicated their entire lives to speculating on it. One race had even attempted to build a computer the size of a city in an attempt to quantify it. But whatever the price of life was, one thing was sure: It was steep.
It was sometimes easy to forget just how precious life could be after gaining immortality and leading a life of warfare. The Maximal who called himself Gunslinger was not only gaining a lesson in perspective, but economics. Security work paid dirt, even in the slums where guards were paid relatively well. Nevertheless, he had been scrimping and saving for the past thirty years, working until he had enough energon to build a new body one part at a time and grant it the gift of life. He had even sacrificed maintenance on himself and his blue and yellow paint job was mostly worn away. Though, it was hard to tell in the shimmering violet and blue hues of light pr
Her TouchShe was still...
Her eyes closed, skin paler than it usually was...
Motionless.
But her face still held its beauty. He could still find himself staring.
He could hear her breathe underneath the oxygen mask,
and the beeping sounds of the hospital machines, telling him
that her life was currently in no danger.
He stared at her hand, her lifeless hand.
It used to provide him life and warmth, whenever he held it tenderly.
Would it be the same again? He hoped it would.
He remembered those earlier times when she would ask him,
in that soft voice...
She would look at him shyly, but pleadingly, and that
trademark blush she usually wore would appear across her cheeks.
She would hold out her hand to him.
In the beginning, being that oblivious and proud idiot he usually was,
he often hesitated and tried to change the subject.
He used to think that holding her hand was just ridiculous and pointless.
Everything changed, of course.
He had found out that she lived a lif
Runaway (Pokemon)He only takes the book out at night. After I've gone to bed, after Delia's gone home, and he thinks he's alone, he goes downstairs and looks it over.
I had no idea he did so until one night, when I couldn't sleep. I came downstairs to get something to drink, and he was there.
"Professor?" I asked. Usually if he was up this late, I thought he would be in the lab.
He jolted, slamming the book shut. "Tracey? What are you doing up at this hour?"
"Couldn't sleep." I sat down next to him at the kitchen table. "What's in the book?"
He sighed. "It's a photo album. From when Gary was a baby."
I smiled. "Wow, what was he like?"
"...go back to bed, Tracey."
This wasn't like him. Usually he couldn't wait to talk about his prize grandson. "Professor, are you all right?"
He shook his head. "...I've never told you about Gary's father, have I?"
"No, you haven't..."
The book slid across the table, and he opened it to the first page. "That's Gary right after he was born."
I looked at the picture. A squa
